Recon Toyota Harrier Price in Malaysia (2027 Guide)

By Matthew, Angsa Emas · Updated October 2026

A recon Toyota Harrier in our KL stock costs RM134,000 to RM193,000 across 32 cars. It is the main SUV pick when the budget is tight. We rank it in our best recon cars in Malaysia list for value, and this guide shows how to buy one well.

I am Matthew from Angsa Emas. The Harrier and the Lexus RX look alike from far, and the price gap between them is real. Below are the numbers, how it compares with the Lexus NX and RX, and what to check.

How much is a recon Harrier in Malaysia in 2027?

Our Harrier range is RM134,000 to RM193,000. That is a stock sheet range, not a fixed quote, and it moves with year, grade, mileage and trim. For context, asking prices seen on listing sites in Oct 2026 for a 2024 Harrier 2.0 Z recon were RM168k to RM195k. Those are other sellers' asking prices.

Because we have 32 Harriers, you can compare several cars of the same year and pick the best grade and colour. That choice is worth more than a small discount on a weaker car.

Is the recon Harrier reliable?

The Harrier is a Toyota, and parts and service for Toyota are easy to find in Malaysia. That helps ownership costs. It does not remove the risk of a bad individual car, so the grade, the auction sheet and a proper inspection still decide whether this one is good.

Check the same things on every car: body panels, paint, interior wear, the infotainment screen, the air conditioning and the electronic features. Our checklist lists them in order.

Harrier or Lexus NX: which should I buy?

Buy the Harrier if you want the lower price and the same kind of SUV size. Buy the NX if you want the Lexus badge and finish. Our NX250 is RM213,000 to RM243,000, and the Harrier is RM134,000 to RM193,000. Drive both, then decide whether the badge is worth the extra money to you.

Harrier or Lexus RX350: which one fits my budget?

The Harrier fits a tighter budget. The RX350 is a bigger, more expensive SUV, at RM269,000 to RM358,000 in our stock. If the instalment is the limit, the Harrier is the sensible pick. If you carry adults in the back often, check the rear space on both. Read the RX350 guide for more.

What does grade 4.5 mean on a recon Harrier?

Grade 4.5 means the car is slightly used with minimal blemishes on the auction sheet. Grade 5 is near flawless. Grade R or RA means the car was repaired after an accident. These grades are an industry convention, not an official standard, so read the sheet notes too.

Interior is graded separately from A to D. A Harrier with body 4.5 and interior B is a common, sensible target. The grade guide has the full table.

What about insurance and road tax for a recon Harrier?

I will not quote figures, because they depend on your insurer, the car's value and the engine size. Road tax in Malaysia is based on engine capacity, and insurance is priced on the car's value and your record. Ask for an insurance quote on the exact car before you pay a deposit.

Add both to your monthly budget. A car you can only just afford on the instalment becomes a problem once insurance and road tax come in.

How do I finance a recon Harrier?

Use a bank loan and ask for the effective interest rate. Since 1 June 2026 the Hire-Purchase (Amendment) Act 2026 sets reducing-balance interest as the standard for new agreements. Banks often treat recon cars like new car loans, because they are not registered in Malaysia before you.

Our loan guide has a worked example, the bank terms we found, and the questions to ask.

What is the main risk with a recon Harrier?

Buying on price alone. A cheap Harrier with a weaker grade, a repair history or a worn interior costs more later. Compare cars of the same year and grade, and pay for a third-party inspection if you are not sure. Imported cars usually have no local service history.
